Rhiwbina Civic Society was established in September 1997, with the aim of preserving the
village atmosphere for which Rhiwbina is famed, and to foster a sense of community and
civic pride. It enables members of the local community to voice their ideas about the area in an organised and constructive way to the right people.
We meet on the third Tuesday of the month (except August and December) in Canolfan Beulah. Our speakers talk on a range of subjects of interest and relevance to the Society.
The Society participates in events in the area such as Rhiwbina Festival in July and the Victorian Evening at the beginning of December.
We also try and make improvements to the area by organising the occasional litterpick and
other practical projects.
Our area of benefit comprises the residential areas of Rhiwbina and Pantmawr which are bounded by Manor Way, Ty’n y Parc Road and Caerphilly Road, and the countryside areas to the north from the Traveller’s Rest along Cwm Nofydd. It is roughly the Parliamentary constituency of Cardiff North.
The Society is fully constituted and affiliated to The Civic Trust in Wales.
